Ok... Here's a photo update on the new office/studio. Drywall is up and prepped. Also, I put a coat of primer on the walls tonight. Things are shaping up. Drums should go against the far wall, desk against the right wall. The infamous brown leather chairs will be scattered around as well. Not planning on doing anything with the ceiling any time soon. I'm trying to get some decent space on very little $$$ and effort. Seems to be coming together nicely. Only thing left is to figure out what color to paint the walls and pick out some cheap carpet.

Taking Shape!

Man Cave Update
Couldn't go any longer without the computer so I brought it upstairs tonight. I'm so techno-reliant.
Things are going well in the dungeon. Walls framed, electric run, drywall up and first coat of mud up. Life is good. Should be done mudding by the end of the week and I hope to paint Saturday. Carpet should be able to go down early next week and I'm back in business.
In other news, when not working in the basement, I've been all wrapped up in the new season of 24 (WOW). Also catching up on other fav shows like Boston Legal (how funny are those people???).
Side note... Pittsburgh and Seattle are coming to town. The "Bus" angle aside, I'm hoping the 'burgh whips up on the Seahawks. Funny thing is, I actually have rooted for both of these teams as my "B" team over the years (when your "A" team is the Lions, you learn to root for a "B" team). In the '70's and early '80's it was the Steelers. For a few years in the '80's it was Seattle.
Umm.... I'm on a Nirvana kick.

Another Example of Survival of the Fittest
BERLIN (Reuters) - A bungling German thief left a Hansel and Gretel-style trail of feathers which led police from the crime scene to his front door, authorities said Tuesday.
Police in the western city of Bochum said the man ripped open his quilted jacket as he broke into a shop to steal a karaoke set and did not notice it was leaking feathers all the way home. A witness saw the break-in and quickly told police.
"Luckily they were able to act before the next story was played out -- "Gone with the Wind," said Bochum police spokesman Frank Plewka. "All they had to do was follow the feathers."
The 36-year-old was astonished when police came knocking at his door shortly afterwards to arrest him.

Man Cave Construction in Progress
The basement is empty (relatively) and the Man Cave is in progress. Jen, Mary and I spent the last week or two carting everything out of the basement into the Pod. After removing all the nasty wood and stuff, the place looks pretty open.
The new space will function as my subterranean office, music/recording room as well as overall goof-off area for the family.
Just picked up the necessary lumber and wire to rough it all in. Should be rough framed (with help from my brother-in-law Rick the Tool Master) by the weekend. Life is good...
